minimum wage

minimum wage means:
if the company pays you less money
they will be breaking the law.

If you are making minimum wage you are BELOW the USA poverty level. Don't fool yourself into thinking that a person who is employed is not homeless or cannot feed their family.

Merely being employed is NOT enough. Most people making minimum wage also do not have health insurance and if they do they surely cannot afford to pay for it nor can they pay the deductibles if they need to use the insurance.

This season, reach out and help someone outside of your family. Give to various organization. Why not do random acts of kindness to someone anonymously.

For example,  why not leave a gift on the doorsteps of someone's home or even send it through the mail. Maybe a gift card for coffee at McDonald's or Kroger's for a few groceries.

Jesus is the reason for the season.

My OH my!

Well the last time I wrote on my blog was in June. I cannot believe that it has been so long. So let me bring you up to date.

  • My dad turned 92 years old on June 6 and we had a Birthday Card Party for him. I asked friends and family to send him a birthday card throughout the entire month of June. Wow! the response was overwhelming. He was so excited. Thanks so much to everyone who participated.
  • I start working for Kelly Services as a Temp.  I really like the Troy Kelly Services staff.  I was assigned to a mortgage company and that assignment was very unrewarding and humiliating. I was tired of the disrespect and nightmares and anxiety so I removed myself from the assignment making me "JOBLESS".
  • After resigned I went to visit dad in New Jersey for a week.  I had such a wonderful time. My dad is so fun to be with. We shopped and went to a Caribbean Party and attended church and ate Chinese take out and cooked and did quite a few things.  He is so vivacious and I love him so much.
  • Upon returning from N.J. I spent weeks unemployed with $0.00 income. Fear started to come in like a flood.  I am working a very short term (8 days) assignment at a large Jewish synagogue helping the director with both High Holy Holidays; Rosha Shana and Yom Kippor.  It has been an amazingly wonderful experience.
  • OH! I forgot to let you know that I celebrated my 55th birthday on July 28th.  It was pretty uneventful except my dad sent me 2 birthday cards and one really expressed his deepest sentiments, which made me cry like a baby.  Also my team at the mortgage company gave me a party at the office.
  • For my birthday, I did what is called the "big chop" by cutting all my hair off.  The hair and the relaxer are GONE!  I am getting so many compliments.  after a month my hair is beginning to understand that I am the boss. lol.  I like my new look and feel much more confident with short short hair.
So that is pretty much what is going on in my life.  I am actively purging my home and life of "things" so that I can prepare to relocate to Charlotte, NC.

Please keep me in your prayers especially for employment immediately here in Michigan and also in North Carolina so that I can relocate.  Please also pray for my Brother-in-law Michael who has been sick. He truly needs our faith-filled prayers.

Know that I love my viewers and I apologize for being incognito!

lost and found...

While cleaning and sorting and packing up my art studio I found some pages that I designed and made for looking books.....

My Pet Deer.....

I have had a family of Deer for several years.  This is my back yard. Last year this new subdivision was not there and there was a field with lots of trees and wooded area. Now with this construction of new homes I thought my Deer Family was lost. Somehow they are still habitating in the sparce remainder of vegetation.  I was so surprised to see him midday. I wish he would come closer and eat my weeds but Nooooooooooooooooo!
