what does depression look like?

About 4 years ago, I was suffering from deep long term depression.  I was curious to see how it really looked. The Bible always talks about ones coutenenance so I decided to take a look at myself. My eyes tell the whole story about what is going on inside my head and heart.
I can say PRAISE GOD because today, this day, I am depressions free and I am so very grateful.
Thank you Lord Jesus for being Jehovah Rophe my healer.

PRAYER WALL

In 1998 the Lord encouraged me to compose a wall of prayer. Recently, I decided to compose another on in my bedroom. I wake up and pray the prayers posted on the wall. Here are a few photo clips to show you what it looks like. In the near future I plan to teach a class on practical prayer methods. Let me know if you would be interested.

saxophonist Merlon Devine

"Take My Life"

I absolutely love this song. It just moves me every time I hear it. Ever since my beloved friend James Moore introduced me to the music of Micah Stampley I have gone on youtube.com to hear it regularly. This saxophone versus is so soothing and wonderful.

Today I received a rejection letter (email) from Comcast for a job that I truly desired. Listening to this song makes me realize that I really must allow the Lord to "take my life" in all areas and mold it into what He desires for me.

Listen to this wonderful song and tell me what you think.  Please leave a comment.

Love y'all

Did you ever know that you're my hero?

I just want to profess that I just love my dad. He is going to be 92 years old in about 3.5 months. I am so proud of him. He has always been a man of God who loves people and loves justice. My dad is an honorable man who is greatly respected by many. Although he has out lived his wife (my beautiful mother), all of his sisters and brothers and many of his close friends he continues to live life to the fullest.

I love to pray and I truly believe that this was a gift passed down from my dad. Whenever I go to visit him at my childhood home in N.J., my father has a tradition of praying for me before I leave to travel back to my home. His prayers have made a great difference in my life.

At almost 92 years old Dad is so VIBRANT!  He has great energy and is able to live alone and independently.  Now he no longer drives a car after a major hip injury in 2007 however he does drive a brand new top of the line scooter which he affectionately calls his new Cadillac. With his newest toy he actually travels by scooter to various cities in the area. Now I must admit, this is not comforting to know that he drives his scooter so far from home and believe it or not he drives in the street, major street and not on the side walk. Glory to God. I am now like a parent who has allowed a teen to drive the family car.

So rejoice with me as I celebrate my HERO during National Black History Month. This civil rights leader is responsible along with others for the desegregation of schools and set in motion the changes in America to allow an African America President. I am so glad that my father has lived to see the fruits of his labor and putting his life on the line so that America could become a free country.

Cocoa and Beads Class Photographs...

If you missed the Cocoa and Beads classes held in November and December you truly missed a great even and for only $40.  Here are a few photographs taken at one of the classes.

Each student purchased a cuff bracelet kit of their choice.  I taught several basic bead embroidery stitches and assisted them in designing their very own one of a kind bracelet. The results were amazing. Of course, I served Organo Gold Coffee, Cocoa and Green Tea which seemed to be a smash hit.

In 2012 I will be offering more classes. Please let me know if you are interested in taking the Cocoa and Beads cuff bracelet class in February or March.

Thank you Norma, Anita and Mona Lisa. Let's get together again very soon.
